I do think this is pretty rare - I rerolled a LOT and never got this :/ Anyway, have fun and post questions - the community (mostly) is super helpful! Or a 22-cost staff with a tier 1 skill and an Aizen. For example, a 22-cost lance with a tier 1 skill and a Joan of Arc. By complementary I mean the color of the monster matches the ideal color of the class of the weapon. My totally ideal start would have been a top tier monster and a complementary weapon. If you can get your gems spent per SSR to be around 15 and you have a decent mix of complementary gear, I think that's amazing. Final Comments If you get a start with a UR-able top tier monster and average >1 SSR per 30 gems spent, I think you're doing fine. The same can't be said for monster or weapons, which is why I think they are valued less. Defensive spawns that cost 30 gems and guarantee an SSR come around every so often. Rolls that include just defensive gear may be ok for some classes, but not all. For example, 23 cost armor with reflect or constant ups (Physical armor up, magical armor up). If you are wondering which weapons are good or which skills are useful, please see the various guides posted here or on the ATeam forum ( ) The next best thing to get is defensive gear with good skills and high cost. For example, a 22-cost Heart of Deadeye bow for an archer or one of the weapon's with the ability to replace the basic attack. If you can't get a top tier monster, a high cost weapon with a desirable skill is probably the next most rare. It's just that if you can start with one, it will help you out forever. Not getting one won't cripple you - again, great monsters are farmable. A list of monster tiers can be found here ( ) A good utility monster is the hardest thing to get from spawns and will be helpful to you in almost all modes. What is considered a good starting roll? Generally speaking, the best thing to shoot for in a reroll is a top tier utility monster. If you aren't having fun, just stick with an account for a while and see if you can make it work. Tons of successful accounts have started off slow. See the comment from Sixjester below for better explanation. The goal of a good start is to allow you flexibility and ease to get the better gear later. The point is, a ton of great gear is farmable. Other classes can't rely soley on free gear quite as much, but soldiers will use Asvaris and Apollo (both free), Clerics will use Ama (free), Lancers will use Apollo and Jabberwock (both free) and Mages will use Nyx (free). You may opt for the Legend Medal weapons, the Alice Horn, and the Crystal breaker bow as well. For example, if you are an archer, your build might include Alice as your monster in all 6 of your monster slots. A lot of excellent gear in the game is free - this includes event gear, element gear, etc. Getting good gear to start out can help you in the long term. There are hundreds of free gems available throughout the game - however, once these run out, free gems become more scarce. Don't reroll just because you chose mage and used a few hundred proficiency points and then got great gear for a lancer 3. Your chosen class doesn't really matter - it's best to roll and let your gear guide your class decision. UR-able monsters are the most rare item to get from spawns 2. Some basic facts it may help you to know 1. This is also a good strategy but it's a little more time intensive. Some people opt to roll the 9 gem beginner spawns first to see if they get SSRs and then the 30 gem afterwards, knowing it guarantees an SSR. The beginner spawn (30 gem) is one of the best in the game because it's 30 gems and guarantees an SSR. If you get something good, you can always roll the beginner spawn later. Should I reroll the beginner 30x gem spawn or a different one? The beginner 30 gem spawn will be with you for a while, so if there is a particularly good but temporary spawn available (like Divine Grace, or Valk Spawn) I would recommend you do those for your rerolls. If the results of this are not good, you can repeat the process until you get a start you like. In UL, after playing through the tutorial and the first few levels, you can easily gather 30 gems and perform a beginner spawn. This is not intended to be a comprehensive beginner guide - please see the strategy forum on the official ATeam forum for those For example - Important note: I've only been playing about a month now, so other - please recommend edits or add info below if anything isn't correct! I'm still learning too :) What does "Reroll" actually mean? To re-roll means to delete your account and start the game over. Hi all, I've noticed a ton of "Should I re-roll" topics popping up and thought I'd give a very basic re-roll guide a shot.
